A Hyde Park in Midland would be an attraction for residents moving to Midland who want access to both urban centres and green space. Midland Oval could become a beautiful park land, an area to be enjoyed as an amenity and an attraction for visitor and residents of Midland. Walk down the street in Midland and you will see vacant businesses – does Midland really need more business and retail space within easy walking distance of a major shopping centre that is currently being expanded?
Across Perth researchers have identified leafy suburbs such as Wembley Downs can be as much as 6 Degrees Celsius cooler than treeless suburbs. Is Midland destined to become a growing statistic in climate change with more residents turning on air conditioning to beat the rising heat from lack of green spaces in our city?
